I just made this shaving horse. It is a Hemlock bench with cherry legs and a locust/cherry rotating arm.
I got one of those old hand drills and a couple auger bits. It takes a lot of practice to get accurate with the hand drill and a little bit of body english to crank out the wood, especially with the 1 1/4" auger bit!
I intend to use it for any drawknife work. Maybe even more. Say goodbye to C clamps and hunch backs!
Does anyone out there know other ways a shaving horse is used?
