I just made this shaving horse.  It is a Hemlock bench with cherry legs and a locust/cherry rotating arm.

I got one of those old hand drills and a couple auger bits.  It takes a lot of practice to get accurate with the hand drill and a little bit of body english to crank out the wood, especially with the 1 1/4" auger bit!

  I intend to use it for any drawknife work.  Maybe even more.  Say goodbye to C clamps and hunch backs!

Does anyone out there know other ways a shaving horse is used?
